Gregory Jones | President
Gregory Jones is a seasoned political professional whose hard work and enduring spirit has brought him from humble Mississippi beginnings to founding one of the southeast’s premier strategic consulting firms, The Jones Group, LLC.
Mr. Jones has served in several capacities across political and business sectors. Always a champion for small business, Gregory has consistent and ardent supporter of entrepreneurs and startup initiatives. Prior to founding The Jones Group, Gregory served as Director of Governmental Affairs for the Alabama State Employees Association.
Mr. Jones is an active member of the following organizations: The American League of Lobbyists, Corporate Roundtable of National Black Caucus of State Legislators, American Council of Association Executives, Montgomery County Industrial Development Board, Montgomery Chamber of Commerce Chairman's Club, and the Capital City Club Board of Governors. Gregory is also a graduate of Leadership Montgomery Class XXVII.
Gregory earned a degree in Business from Arkansas State University where he was a member of the football team.
He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Iyishia, and family.
Jada Shaffer | Government Affairs Director
Jada Shaffer brings over 15 years of corporate and public policy experience to The Jones Group. Specializing in strategic planning, government affairs, and grassroots advocacy, Jada has a proven track record of impacting change at the local, state, and national levels.
Prior to her joining The Jones Group, Ms. Shaffer served as the Campaign Manager and lobbyist for VOICES for Alabama’s Children. Jada has also worked in strategic development and grassroots advocacy capacities for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network and the American Lung Association.
Jada sits on the Board of the Chemical Addiction and the Board of the Alabama Kidney Foundation. Ms. Shaffer also serves on the Alabama General Fund Coalition, the Alabama Obesity Task Force, End Child Hunger Task Force, the Tobacco Free Alabama Coalition, the Wellness Coalition, the Montgomery Obesity Task Force, the Smokefree Montgomery Coalition, the Alabama School Readiness Alliance, and the Early Child Care Nutrition Standards Task Force.
Ms. Shaffer has one son and resides in Montgomery. She enjoys advocating for children, traveling, and spending time with her family. Jada is a member of Centerpointe Church.
Brandon Colvin | Strategic Communications Director
Brandon Colvin is a multidisciplinary consulting professional who brings over a decade of experience across the government affairs, education, communications, and small business sectors. Brandon specializes in message development, visual and print media, and external engagement.
Mr. Colvin is a former Government Affairs Manager and lobbyist for the Business Council of Alabama where he served as Small Business Committee Liaison, representing the legislative and political interests of Alabama’s small businesses. Brandon has also provided political consulting services for cities and municipalities across Alabama. Additionally, Brandon’s professional experience as a secondary, collegiate, and adult education instructor adds invaluable communications expertise to our team.
Brandon is a member of the News Leadership Council, the Trust Project, and a 2018 graduate of the American Express Leadership Academy. He also is a 2018 Campaign for Black Male Achievement Fellow, Andrew Carnegie Mellon Fellow, Ronald E. McNair Scholar, and recipient of a national Knight Arts Challenge Grant for his community arts engagement work.
